Lhasa city which means “Land of Gods” is 1,300 years old is considered as one of most featured and dreamt-about cities in the world. During the first couple of days you will be exploring the cultural and historic sites within the Lhasa. While you are gently recovering from the jet lag and getting use to the high altitude of Tibet, the wonders and beauty of the city will never cease to overwhelm you. The holy city of Lhasa is home to some of the most popular historical and sacred religious sites of Tibet including the Jokhang temple, Sera and Drepung monastery. After exploring Lhasa, we head to gorgeous Namtso Lake. It is the world highest salt water lake. Then we move to Yangpachen, which is famous for its natural hot springs.

Day 1 Arrival Lhasa

Upon arriving at Lhasa, you will be met by our representatives and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Free at leisure for the rest of the day to get used to the high altitude and to alleviate jet lag.

Day 2 Visit Potala, Jokhang temple & the Barkhor

The Potala and the Jokhang temple are two of the most heavily visited tourist destinations as well as religious sites in Tibet. Pilgrims from far and wide have taken arduous journeys across mountains and rivers to visit the temple since centuries back. The street around the Jokhang temple, colloquially known as the Barkhor, is famous for its traditional market, which also serves as a meeting point for pilgrims from different places. It is a real pleasure to walk, rubbing shoulders with other pilgrims and tourists on this bustling street.

Day 3 Visit Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery & Norbulingka

After breakfast, We visit Drepung Monastery, which is considered one of the three great monasteries in Tibet. Then we continue your tour to Norbulingka and Sera Monastery. Norbulingka served as the traditional summer residence of the successive Dalai Lamas and now it is the largest garden in Tibet. Sera Monastery is one of the great three university monasteries of Tibet, located 1.25 miles north of Lhasa and about 5 kilometers north of the Jokhang.

Day 4 Visit Namtso Lake

After breakfast, We will drive you to Namtso Lake in Nagqu area. It is the highest altitude saltwater lake in the world. On the way to the lake, you will get to view the stunning North Tibet Grassland. Only simple houses and tents will be available for the accommodation near the lake so sleeping bags are recommended. Lake site will be closed and won't receive guests from every November to next March due to harsh winter condition.

Day 5 Visit Yangpachen

On the way back to Lhasa, We will visit Yangpachen. It is very famous for its natural hot springs and geothermal resources. After the visit , we will be transferred back to Lhasa.

Day 6 Departure Lhasa

Today will be your last day on the Tibet plateau. We would really appreciate if you can evaluate our services for future improvement. You can either leave the feedback form to your guide or just write us an email. Our guide and driver meet you at the hotel lobby and drop you to the airport/train station per your schedule. The trip officially ends.
