Tour’s Program

It is believed that the culture of central Tibet, particularly the areas of Lhasa, Shigatse and Gyantse, are at the core of the larger Tibetan culture and traditions. It was in these places that the Tibetan culture took its roots and spread to other parts of Tibet. As a result, the importance and the relevance of these places in the collective conscience of the Tibetan people gained in significance over the centuries. Lhasa is both the political and cultural capital of Tibet. Shigatse is the second biggest Tibetan city and is home to the Tashi Lhunpo, one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries. In between these two cities is Gyantse, the third largest Tibetan city with its own unique heritage and mystic folklores.
