Tour’s Program

Explore one of the most popular and adventurous tours in the world as you will get to the witness the mighty Himalayas, home to nine of the ten highest peaks on Earth. The tour will begin with the holy city Lhasa where you are bound to find few of the most visually enthralling architectural structures in Tibet, not only in form of famous temples and palaces but also in Tibetan residential homes, which are quite tastefully decorated, a museum in themselves. We will spend a couple of days in Lhasa for acclimation and jet lag recovery as well as appreciating its prominent historical and religious sites like the famous Potala Palace, divine Jokhang Temple and the expansive Drepung and Sera monasteries. Before we begin on our journey into the Nepal Himalayan region, we will view the holy Yamdrok lake, beautiful Karo la glaciers, mystical Gyantse Khubum stupa and the Tashi Lhunpo monastery en route.

Day 1-3

Upon arriving at Lhasa, you will be met by our representatives and transferred to your hotel for check-in which is located in the old part of the city or the Tibetan Area. The holy Jokhang temple and the busy Bakhor Street will be at the center of your hotel area and that will let you peek into the daily traditional lives of Tibetan living there. Over the next following days you will be visiting few world heritage sites such as Potala Palace- one of seven wonders of world according to USA today in 2006. Jokhang temple, most sacred temple in Tibet with important collection of cultural artifacts. Barkhor is the market square in the heart of Lhasa which has the trek path for pilgrims to circumambulate the Jokhang shrine. It is a short 20m minutes walk around the Jokhang. Our knowledgeable guides will enhance your experience with thorough historical and cultural information. Exploring Lhasa continues with the visit to the two of the three great monasteries of Tibet Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. After that visit to NorbuLinga which served as the traditional summer residence of the successive Dalai Lamas. We also arrange special visits to typical Tibetan villages to meet families or receive rare, sacred blessings from high lamas.

Day 4–5

In next two days we will be crossing over the Gampa la Pass and Karo la Pass to Gyantse and Shigatse. Following the Brahmaputra river, we will trek through the terrain of the Gampa la Pass(4900m). This hike might be little difficult for some people but the scenery along the hike will be absolutely stunning. On way we will get to view the holy Yomdrok lake which will be a treat for your eyes and Mt.Nyenchen Kangsar with its snow capped peaks will add crowns to its breathtaking beauty. Gyantse and Shigatse are well known for their historical and religious value and many foreigners have been known to enjoy these ancient towns. Gyantse is also known as a ‘hero’s town’ and was previously the capital of a 14th century kingdom. You will feel the authentic traditional Tibetan life as these regions have slightly different traditions than those of Lhasa. We will visit the Gyantse Kubhum stupa and Tashi Lhunpo monastery when we reach these two towns.

Day 6–7

As we pass across few stunning passes, we will gradually ascend into the mighty mountainous Himalaya region. We will see the first panoramic view of the Himalayas from the hill of Gyatso la Pass (5400m). The view of the innumerable number of snow capped peaks through the barren mountains would be stunning. We then approach the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest (8848 meters). We will spend a night in Rongbuk Valley after reaching the base. Next morning we will witness the sun rays illuminating the snow capped peaks as they touch with beauty, color, and life. Sitting on the mountain base, watching the view will unfold the thought of how you never wanted to leave; for there wasn't a greater site to see. Next we will cross the Thongla pass and gradually descend into the deep valleys of Nepal with a series of hairpin turns. As the altitude decreases the dry climate changes into a warm, moist environment indicating we have entered the Indian subcontinent.

Day 8

Since it's the last day of tour, we would appreciate if you can fill the feedback form evaluating our services for future improvisation. We will drive to the border of the Nepal and take a short rest in the border town of Datopani. Then drive to Kathmandu and drop you to the hotel.
